Dress Code

Students must observe the dress code assigned to their level.

Leotards and ballet pink tights are available for purchase through New Bedford Ballet.

Students preferring to wear tights and shoes in a color closest to his/her natural skin tone may visit capezio.com to purchase.

Hair must be placed in a bun. If the hair is too short, please discuss an alternative with the teacher.

No jewelry should be worn during classes, rehearsals or performances.

Students should enter and leave the building wearing outside clothes over leotards and tights.

  • Discovery I and II

    • Light pink short-sleeved leotard.

    • Ballet-pink or natural skin tone footed tights.

    • Pink or natural skin tone split sole leather technique shoes.

    • Note: tights and shoes are to be the same color.

  • Pre-Ballet I, II and III and Adaptive Ballet

    • Lavender short-sleeved leotard.

    • Ballet-pink or natural skin tone footed tights.

    • Pink or natural skin tone split sole leather technique shoes.

    • Note: tights and shoes are to be the same color.

  • Foundation

    • Mulberry Classic Tank leotard.

    • Ballet-pink or natural skin tone footed tights.

  • Ballet A

    • Teal Classic Tank leotard.

    • Ballet-pink or natural skin tone footed tights.

  • Ballet B

    • Royal Blue Tank leotard.

    • Split sole canvas or leather technique shoes to match color of tights.

  • Ballet C

    • Red Classic Tank leotard.

    • Ballet-pink or natural skin tone convertible tights.

  • Ballet D and E

    • Black leotard, any style.

    • Ballet-pink or natural skin tone convertible tights.

    • Ballet shoes must be free of holes for performances.

    • White T-shirt.

    Adult Ballet

    • No dress code.

    • Comfortable clothing such as leggings, yoga pants, shorts, or leotard and tights is suggested.

    • Canvas or leather technique shoes are recommended.
